“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
A new entrepreneur , a new kitchen, but one constant: faith as her compass. Join us as we discover the inspiring story of Kemburlye CORIOLAN, a Kingdom Baker who, even in moments of doubt, chose to trust God and follow where He leads.
Q1. Tell us your story. Where are you from, where are you based today, and how did your journey into pastry begin? Were you self-taught, formally trained, or inspired by someone close to you?
I am originally from Haiti and currently based in Tampa, Florida. My journey into pastry began after I moved to the United States. During that season of transition, I spent time praying and seeking God’s direction for my future. As I sought Him, He gently led my heart toward baking and pastry.
At first, I hesitated because many people encouraged me to pursue a career in the medical field or another profession they believed would offer greater opportunities as an immigrant. However, I chose to trust God’s leading instead of the expectations around me.
I recently graduated from a Baking and Pastry program, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life. While I continue to grow in my skills, I am grateful for the opportunity to create beautiful desserts that bring joy to others. One of the bakers who has inspired me throughout this journey is Médoussa.
Q2. When did you realize this was more than a craft? Was there a moment you felt God calling you into this, or confirming that your business was part of His plan for your life?
As I continued to grow in my journey, God gave me a vision that extended far beyond baking.
My dream is to one day own a coffee shop and bakery where people can enjoy quality coffee and pastries while also finding a place of peace and rest. I want it to be a welcoming environment where people can read their Bibles, spend time with God, or simply step away from the busyness of everyday life.
That vision helped me realize that this business is about much more than selling desserts. It is part of God’s purpose for my life—a way to serve others, build meaningful connections, and reflect His love through what I do.
Q3. How does your faith show up in your day-to-day work?
My faith influences the way I approach every aspect of my business. I strive to treat every client with kindness, respect, and excellence, making sure they feel valued and genuinely cared for.
Since I am still at the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey, I remain grateful in every season—even when I don’t have clients—because I know that God is the One who gave me both the gift and the vision.
Whenever I face uncertainty, I choose to pray and trust God’s timing rather than rely on my own understanding. Although I know there will be difficult seasons, I also know that God is faithful and will continue to lead me every step of the way.
Q4. What has been your greatest challenge as a pastry chef, and how did God meet you in it?
One of my greatest challenges has been learning to trust myself and to be bold.
Starting a business with limited experience sometimes made me question whether I was truly capable or even on the right path. In those moments, God gently reminded me that this journey is not about my own strength—it is about His.
Through every class, every order, and every opportunity, He has been teaching me patience, perseverance, and confidence.
I am also deeply grateful for my family, who have been among my greatest supporters. Their encouragement, along with their willingness to purchase my products and promote my work, has been a tremendous blessing throughout this journey.
Q5. What would you say to a fellow Daughter or Son of the King who feels called to entrepreneurship but is afraid to start?
If God has placed a dream in your heart, it is there for a reason.
Believe in God, and believe in the gifts He has placed within you. Be bold, remain anchored in His promises, and do everything with love.
Most importantly, walk in obedience, because obedience will always open doors that fear tries to keep closed.
Favorite Bible Verse
One verse that continually strengthens and encourages me is Philippians 4:13:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
I also find great encouragement in 2 Timothy 1:7:
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
This verse reminds me to move forward with confidence, even when I feel uncertain.
A Special Creation
Although I don’t yet have a signature creation, one of my most meaningful projects was my final presentation in baking school.
For this project, I chose lemon as my theme and created three desserts: lemon meringue macarons, lemon cheesecake cups, and limoncello tiramisu. It was an unforgettable experience, and I was honored to receive wonderful feedback from the judges, who appreciated both the presentation and the flavors.

A Final Reflection
I know I am only at the beginning of my journey, but each day I am learning to trust God more deeply, remain disciplined, and continue developing the gifts He has entrusted to me.
I believe that every step of obedience is preparing me for everything He has planned ahead.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7
Today, we’ve discovered not the peak of Kemburlye’s journey, but the beautiful foundation of a vision rooted in God. A journey marked by faith, obedience, courage, and a heart willing to trust His timing.
We can’t wait to see where God leads her next. In the meantime, thank you, Chef Kemburly, for sharing your story and your gift with us.
