That night, the pastor was teaching about sacrifices to put on the altar,
It sounded a bit unrealistic because I had no house, no money, no car,
So I decided that he wasn't talking to me so far,
But little did I know that I was already on the Lord’s radar.
After a moment, I heard the Lord’s voice telling me:
"Your love for this man is all you have, put your heart on the altar.
Do you want to keep hurting and multiply the scars?
I know your heartbreak, I saw your sorrow and your tears,
I know letting him go is one of your greatest fears,
But trust Me, it's not worth it.
Let me set you free.
Let me give you peace.
I'll take away all of it.
Let Me rescue you.
Let Me make you new.
Let Me take your pain away, and give you a clean slate."
It had been more than 2 years now...
2 years since a heartbreak that kept on breaking my heart,
2 years of lingering and regretting us being apart,
2 years of suffering, hoping one day we'd be back together,
2 years since I started questioning the meaning of "forever".
I had already tried everything to break the covenant,
To rebuke every piece of our souls that were tied,
Prayed, praised, fasted, nothing else had worked,
There was always that glimpse of hope that was dormant.
I tried with my own strength until my brain fried,
But I always ended up back to square one, hurt.
So I took the leap of faith,
and trusted God.
I didn't look back, I knew it couldn't go bad.
I prayed, I let it go, and God provided.
He did exactly what He said,
His name is exalted!

Free like never before,

Right now all can think is "Wow",
God gave me back my crown.
